The arrival of my new business has been expedited by the ‘pandemic push’. Covid has necessitated change in so many aspects of our lives, both at home and at work (if there is even any distinction between the two anymore). Covid has been tragic, horrendous, ruinous, and frustrating – yes, all of that. And continuing…
But there has been opportunity too. I had this shared with me; when written in Chinese, the word ‘crisis’ is composed of two characters. One represents danger, the other represents opportunity.
So, I have taken the opportunity. Taken a route that I had always planned, but not envisaged for several years. Hung up my lawyer boots (they have served me well), left the office world behind and gone solo to do the work I am most passionate about.
The idea for the brand and logo came to me after hours of searching through stereotype images and passé phrases. What clients get out of mediation is a way forward, focussing less on the conflict and what has gone wrong, to moving on. (Another pandemic parallel??)
Looking back I can see how all the legal jobs I have had, the studies I’ve undertaken, the training I have engaged in and the clients I have worked with have all brought me to here. I had not expected to be here, not in 2020 anyway, but I am very glad to be.
